Wargames Illustrated Issue 448

Wargames Illustrated Issue 448

“It’s not my period. Sorry.” was the standard response of my history teacher when I asked him pretty much anything about military history. I’m pretty sure that, over a couple of years, I tried him on everything from Ancient Egypt to Vietnam; I never did discover what his period was. To be fair to him, I do find myself giving the same response regularly - for instance, during any conversation about wargaming Moderns. The reasons for one’s lack of interest in gaming Moderns are varied; for me, it’s the bewildering array of weapons and vehicles. Regardless of what may or may not be ‘my’ period, Warlord Games is a broad church, so it was with gusto that I embraced this month’s Ultra-Modern theme, and I have enjoyed reading and educating myself on the Ultra-Modern games and minis that are the focus of this issue. I hope the same goes for you. Even if you are not an Ultra-Modern gamer, Warlord Games aims to entice you at least to take a look at what is on offer.

If you can’t be tempted by this month’s Ultra-Modern theme, no problem! Warlord Games has everything from April Fools, Traitor’s Toll, new Perry plastics, a Hougoumont diorama using this year’s free Salute figure, and loads more for you.
